The template was used to draw the design onto the body blanks, and then the blanks were cut about 1/16" larger than the template.  This allowed the body to be finish-routed down to the template size later .

One step that's missing from these photos is the transformation from rough-cut Walnut to smooth and square finished wood.  I owe a huge thanks to Bill Campbell for planing and joining the wood for me.

Matching the body to the neck. Notice that the neck extends beyond the body - this will be cut after gluing for a seamless fit.

Part of the design was to make each body half as equal in weight as possible, for good top to bottom balance.

Glued and clamped, and allowed to dry for 24 hours.
