The body design was drawn on a sheet of MDF (medium density fiberboard).
This was cut out and used as a template for the body blanks.

MDF is stable and easy to work with - and much cheaper to make a mistake on than walnut.

Tools of the trade -- Pencil, french curves, and a good eraser!

This shows an early design that was rejected. It didn't meet the desire to have a niche for my right arm.

This is the final template, after it was cut out and sanded.
